26 Apr VM & Display Show 2016
Last week we popped in to take a look at what the Visual Merchandising & Display Show in London had to offer. What we found was a vibrant, cooperative, exciting and above all interesting event to attend. There was a wealth of fresh ideas and creativity flowing throughout. Thematically, (whether by design or not) the exhibitors sat in one of two camps, either textured material and organic or highlighted by vibrant colours and geometrics.
The revolving mirror display by DZD particularly caught our eye, creating an interesting otherworldly motion to the environment as you walk past. There were some interesting manufacturing techniques on show from 3D printed monuments to highly detailed water cut foam butterflies.
Among the professional displays and numerous creative ideas on show were a group of students of Art, Design & Visual Merchandising. The four finalists were competing and being judged by VM’s from Harrods no less. Their designs showed creativity, invention and ability, in our opinion, we can see bright futures ahead for all the students involved.
It was a great event to attend with lots of fun ideas and an overwhelmingly positive attitude towards their work from everyone we met.
Here are some piccies of the highlights.
